Living Healthy Long Term

Posted on January 23rd, 2009.

I can’t believe January is almost over, and that it’s been so long since I’ve updated my blog. No, I haven’t fallen off the face of the earth… I’ve just been completely consumed teaching my fitness camps at the Heart N’ Soul Dance studio here in Spanish Fork… and so far they have been a complete success!

The women I am working with are awesome! They are entirely dedicated to improving their lives through proper nutrition and adequate exercise. It is an absolute privilege to be part of something that improves the lives of others and actually helps them feel better about the way they feel both physically and mentally! In the short amount of time I have been working with these women, they are already telling me they feel stronger and more in control of their eating

Just this morning, after an exhausting workout, one of my clients told me how she wants to continue coming to the exercise classes after the six week camp is through, because she doesn’t want to stop improving her health! We discussed how very often, people are gung-ho with an exercise and nutrition program, yet once they hit their goal weight, they stop their healthy habits and revert back to old ways. This is so sad to me! Exercise and eating right needs to be a high priority in everyone’s lives THROUGHOUT their entire life!

It is so much easier to maintain good health by not allowing yourself to get out of shape in the first place. However, if you ARE out of shape there is no better time than right NOW to begin living a healthier life. Sure, it’s tough at first to change old habits and exert energy to exercise, but it won’t take long for your body to adjust and start to crave the way it feels! And once you get your body fat to where it needs to be, maintenance is really quite simple… it’s just deciding that you will place yourself and your health at the top of your priority list! If you do that, living healthy suddenly becomes a simple thing to do.

Hello Liz,

I like your blog! It is so true, keeping the motivation to stay on track with eating and exercising is so vital to one’s success.

I’m on a mission, well sort of. I found your blog via looking for a nice picture of a green smoothie, and your picture caught my eyes. My mission is to help other women and men get the right information on nutrition and preventative health care. Dr. Tel-Oren is hosting these awesome ‘telling-like-it-is’ seminars aimed at anyone willing to face the truth about our food, processing and supplementing. You can check him out on http://www.ecopolitan.com
Knowledge is power, and if you and your audience listens to these seminars, there is no way to go back to the old ways.
There is an interesting Holistic Health Home Study Course full of these seminars.
If you are short on time, just watch the videos on YouTube: Dr. T. in 3 minutes.
Some of the information will shatter your present ideas. Ex. turnips are part of crucifers, vegetables important in the diet for preventing cancers of all sorts.
No, it’s not folklore, but science with tons of work having been done by many scientists.
I hope my words find you in cheerful mood, and good health,

Aranka
