Apple & Banana Protein Shake
When I’m in a rush, I LOVE mixing up a protein shake so I can fill up on something healthy rather than grabbing an unhealthy alternative. Of course, there is no substitute for good old HEALTHY foods like fruits and vegetables, so 95% of the time I add at least one of these to my shake.
One little trick I learned a long time ago was that you can add spinach to a chocolate protein shake and it still tastes fabulous! Even though it’s a strange green color, they didn’t seem to mind it one bit. Just the other day, my kids hadn’t had as many fruits as they normally get in a day, so I created this little protein shake recipe and it was very yummy! They thought it was a treat!
1 cup milk
1/2 apple
1/2 banana
1 tablespoon flaxseed oil
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
5-6 ice cubes
Give it a try and let me know what you think!

Yum! That really does sound good. What kind of protein powder do you like to use?

Sounds delish, Liz! I need to pick up some flax seeds and flaxseed oil, since they seem to have so many health benefits (but I’d definitely love to see your post about them!).

So, Liz, you’re reminding me here today – that I haven’t had a protein shake in way too long! And this one does sound delish! We use the flax seeds, and grind them up. Now I’m wondering if there’s any difference between them and the oil. (and what a cute picture!!)
