Amazing post! Unfortunately being healthy requires discipline and hard work - that means 90% of the population can't do it..

You're right Liz - that is a great article. The unfortunate thing is the market is only supplying what people want. They say they want to eat healthy, but they won't cut up and eat fruits and vegetables. They'll spend a half an hour to make hamburger helper, but not 5 minutes to cut up some veggies. I don't get it.

Hi Liz and Blake. That was a great post. It just goes along with what I've discovered more and more over the last few years. Nothing beats simple exercise and simple healthy eating.

Liz, thanks for the fabulous blog mention, I love writing lists as well ;)

Hi Liz!
Great to see Blake here - I've recently discovered his blog, and find it to be fantastic!
Blake - great post! What I find sad is that there are all sorts of health and fitness magazines out there - sold to people looking, presumably, to improve to health. And yet, it seems like they nearly all have these "quick fix" products being advertised throughout the magazine. Wouldn't it be better for the magazines to promote "Florida oranges", or "Georgia peaches", or "local farmers markets", or ...."something truly healthy". I agree completely with everything you've said Blake. It's about eating right (and "real") foods, and really doing the exercise - exercises that have been around for a long time. Not the latest machine that claims it will help you get "rock hard abs" in 2 weeks...

Here's to putting in the time, and eating real, and healthy foods...
