Apple Protein Snack
My kids and I love this APPLE PROTEIN snack! It’s healthy, it’s yummy, and it just has a taste of fall to it… if that makes sense at all! It’s a perfect afternoon snack because it’s full of protein and fiber which will give you an energy burst and will tide you over until dinner.
1 cup low-fat cottage cheese
1/2 apple chopped
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Mix together and sprinkle cinnamon/sugar on top
This may be stretching it a bit, but this little snack makes me feel like I’m eating apple crisp… except it’s cold… and it’s healthier.
Another snack idea that uses apples and gives you some protein, is to slice up an apple and spread just a small bit of natural peanut butter on it. This is a big hit with my kids and of course that makes me happy because I know they are getting a ton of nutrients that they need!
What are some of the things YOU do with apples for a healthy snack? I’d love to hear! Share your ideas in the comment section below!

Hi! I like having sliced apples and small squares of cheese (cheddar) for hungry kids. I personally like almond butter on my apples slices, more than peanut butter.

Hi Liz, sounds like a great idea! I was just getting hungry in between meals so I will give this a try now. I like slicing up some apple and having it with almonds.
