Krista - You're nicer than me. If there is a treat I have a hard time staying away from, I don't even let it come in the house! Regardless of whether or not my kids want it! :)
Andrew- I can see why you are more and more excited for your future. You are doing so awesome with your health goals... I love reading your site and watching your success!
Bethany - If it were me, I'd try to find something with less sugar. If you take the 6 grams of sugar that your SlimFast has, plus the sugar in the skim milk (mine says 11 grams), that adds up to a lot! The protein powder I use has 1 gram of sugar... and although most people think I'm weird when I tell them this, I make my protein shakes with water. I like it just the same and feel like if I don't need to add sugar to something in order to like it, why do it? I'll be honest though, it took about three times of making it with water before I really liked it. :)
MizFit - Maybe we're related! (lol!) From what my hubby has told me, Rosenbaum is a jewish name and he has a long line of jewish ancestors. Who knew!

I PRAY I LIVE A LONG LIFE :)
my family is populated with old fabulous jewish women who have outlived their men by DECADES (my grandma passed away at 102) ---but that said, I dont wanna rely on genetics.

Im striving for that long life every day.

Hi Liz! I just wanted to let you know I checked the sugar count in the Slim Fast high protien chocolate shake mix that I like...it's 6 grams before adding milk and natural peanut butter. What do you think about that? Does that still sound pretty high to you? I'm still planning on checking out my local GNC to see if they have the protien powder you recommended. Thanks for answering my question so quickly! I loved your video blog and getting to see your home gym!

For the first time in my life I am looking forward to getting old with my wife.

As I creep forward every week losing more weight I know that my future is going to be brighter.

Take care,
Andrew

yeah---MID WEEK!! I told forgot about mid week motivation....My week is going great!! So, I'm glad to have mid week motivation so the last of my week will go just as great!!
I think I'm NUTS...I exercised yesterday morning with high cardio and weights for an hour...40 minutes walking. (son to school and pick him up) and last night I did an additional 30 minutes of intense cardio...I think I'm nuts...
But, it's something I crave! It's not something I am doing that I will eventually BURN out on...I just crave it. (Does that sound silly?) Just like the other posts...I wake up at 5:30 every morning and give myself about 15 minutes to wake up before I work out...
Honestly, once you get into a solid routine of working out it becomes habit and I really do get upset with myself if I don't work out.
So...here is my goal for the rest of the week..
Oh and if anyone read my goal last week..I was having a VERY VERY hard time keeping my hands out of the pretzel bag...I have to say...I still have the bad of pretzels in the house (snack for kids) and I have not been eating them..YEAH...
So the rest of my weekly goal is:

1. NO PRETZELS
2. NO snacking in between meals
3. Keep up with exercising
4. Keep the water going

It will be a great rest of the week for all of us..
I'm rooting for all of you!!! We have the support of each other....AND when we are all 95 years old we can all hang out together in the garden and pick all our produce we so nicely planted together. Ha ha...
Good luck everyone!! DAY BY DAY!!!

Autumn - I'm glad you're sweating so much! lol! It really makes you feel like you accomplished something awesome doesn't it! So glad to hear that you are staying motivated! And Annie - those goals are great! You are doing so wonderful... already shrinking a whole size! Adding weight training really will give your body shape and definition... so find a good DVD or something to help you get started and get going on that. I know you are itching to! :)

oh BOY did i need this POST! i have been SMACK in the center of an Elderly aunt passing, and we go visit her about once a week, and this has been my motivation- cause i want my grandkids to be able to ENJOY me!! not "wipe my bum"
now as far as my goals, they are the same as last week- i am having a hard time getting the "toning" stuff done- i walk every day, but the extra gets put on a back burner.
And i am challenging myself to:
~Carry my water with me like a cell phone-
~eat more veggies than fruit each day
~NOT justify the 11 pm pastry!
~sit on my excersise ball at PC no matter what!
I've done so good- and the weekends KILL me! I keep snacking- so this weekend i am going to try and eat like it is monday-friday.

Annies last blog post..<a href="http://movsesianfamily.blogspot.com/2008/08/i-am-one-size-smaller.html" rel="nofollow">I am ONE size smaller!!!!!</a>

Okay Amber, you probably won't believe me on this one either... :) but waking up at 5 am is similar to drinking tons of water. I wouldn't say your body CRAVES waking up that early, but you get so used to it, that you start waking up that early naturally. There are some days now, that I will wake up about 4:30 am on my own and think, "What the heck! I still have a half hour to sleep!" But if I lay awake for very long, I just get up and write for my blog. lol!
Oh - and I'm glad you don't still think I'm nuts! (wink!)

Well, for starters - I gave up pop and I've only had a sip in about 2 weeks. I tried your water challenge and to tell you the truth - I thought you were nuts when you said that I'd start to "crave" it. Well, I'm sorry - because I have really started to love it! Thanks!
So, this week, I'm going to try and snack on healthy stuff and not the oreos I LOVE so much....LOL
How do you do those 5am's???
