Time Tested Beauty Tips
As a personal trainer, I should probably be writing lots of blog entries about “how to lose weight” and “how to get down to your ’skinny jean’ size”… And while I do have plans on writing articles like that, I have a really strong desire to help girls and women find love and accept for their bodies – no matter what size they are. So, a lot of what you will find here is information about self acceptance and self esteem. If you ever read entries here that you can relate to or that help you in any way, I’d love to hear your comments. Of course, I do take health and weight issues seriously and I believe that if you are at your best physical self, you are able to be at your best spiritual self. So with my clients that I train in my home gym, I work really hard at helping them get their bodies to a more healthy weight and at a place they feel more comfortable with. It is my belief that regular exercise and nutritious eating is one of the main factors that bring joy and contentment in life, simply because you are free from so many burdens that are side effects from being over-weight. However, it is extremely important to be grateful for your body – regardless of what size you are – and to not constantly tear it down because you feel like you can’t measure up to what “society” calls beautiful.
I ran across a poem today that perfectly sums up what I believe true beauty is. I wanted to share it with others, in hopes that someone who is feeling frustrated with their body or their physical appearance, can look deeper inside of themselves and recognize the true beauty that does lies within them.
Time Tested Beauty Tips
For attractive lips, speak words of kindness.
For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.
For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.
For beautiful hair, let a child run his or her fingers through it once a day.
For poise, walk with the knowledge you’ll never walk alone.
People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed;
Never throw out anybody.
Remember, If you ever need a helping hand, you’ll find one at the end of your arm.
As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself, the other for helping others.
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides.
The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole, but true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It is the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows, and the beauty of a woman with passing years only grows!
